Youth Leaders Across Borders

The training activity took place
in Lake District, United Kingdom
organised by StreetGames UK

Aims & objectives

Youth Leaders Across Borders (YLAB) is a project aimed at up-skilling youth leaders, enabling them to participate in cross-European projects. YLAB is a training course, delivered as six 3 hour modules, helping participants to reflect on their existing knowledge, and put it into a European context.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The training course included young leaders from Germany, United Kingdom, Sweden and Poland.

Training methods used & main activities

Non-formal learning methods were used throughout the training course. A few examples: creating videos about group phases, simulation game about values and intercultural learning, discussions and group challenges.

Outcomes of the activity

The training course was a part of a Strategic Partnership project. It was a pilot for future training course that will be taking place both internationally and in the participating countries. The feedback from the participants was very positive therefore the pilot can be considered to be a success. Nevertheless, the concept is going to be developed further. All the materials will be gathered on a website as well as in a handbook.
The events of the training course were documented shortly on Twitter:

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was one of the trainers developing the training modules as well as delivering them. My main topics were "How to be an international youth leader" and "Internationalism".

I worked on this training for 5 days as a full time trainer.
