Youth For Understanding New Nd Training

Aims & objectives

The training aimed at enabling the participants with competences to improve the quality of their day to day work, and get into networking with each other for international level cooperation.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The team composed of Eylem Certel (TR) and Doug Soffer (USA). The target group of the training was the new National Directors of different YFU organisations in various countries. The participants were from Slovakia, USA, Chile, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Paraguay, Belgium and Spain.

Training methods used & main activities

Non-formal learning methods, such as working in small groups, presentations, simulations and exercises.

Outcomes of the activity

The new National Directors became more confident and equipped concerning some major topics of their day to day work. The networking among the NDs have been established and they got to know each other better.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was the co-trainer. I have taken part in the needs analysis, preparation, delivery and evaluation of the training course.

I worked on this training for 3 days as a full time trainer.
