In order to further develop and enhance the results of the 2010 project “Volunteering 2011 –
Global Strategies for Global Challenges” run by CCIVS, that contains the vision and global
strategies of the international voluntary service movement, and linked to the CCIVS' work plan
for 2014, Solidarités Jeunesses implements a Training for Trainers on Peace and Human Rights
Education. The main idea is to strengthen the role of international voluntary service
organisations as key players in the field of Peace and Human Rights Education.
Aim and objectives:
-to provide participants with an understanding of the history, principles and values promoted
through Peace and Human Rights Education as well as through international voluntary service
activities;
-to define and reflect on the causes, levels and functions of conflicts or human rights violations;
-to develop participants' abilities to implement and lead peace and human rights educational
activities;
-to develop participants’ skills related to intercultural learning;
-to enable participants to use communication tools and educational materials in order to
promote peace and human rights education.
There were 25 participants from Ukraine, Armenia, Spain, Italia, Moldova,and France.
The training based upon the participants previous experiences.It focused mainly on developing the skills of trainers: Methods from the COMPASS manual were used , as well as an Open space day to emphasize on the participants own knowledge about the topic. In the last 2 days the participants developed their own Human Rights workshops that they run and got feedbacks upon.
Around half of the participants runned educative workshops about Human Righst issue to international participants, after the training.
