Training Course “Equilibre”

Aims & objectives

The today’s need we’re facing in our societies for the presence of understanding, respect and dialogue leaves big gap who therefore demands for a space where young people (workers, leaders and volunteers) will come together and work on EQUILIBRE (Equilibrium). So this training course will gather them together, all coming with different background, religions, experiences, knowledge) to get new skills, methodology and information in order to work on establishing equilibrium in their local communities and therefore establish equilibrium in Europe. The main aim of the training course is to provide a chance to 27 representatives working especially with vulnerable groups as with youngsters facing social exclusion to increase their knowledge about minorities as well as to share best practices and lessons learned with their colleagues.
The training course will be based on non – formal learning and will also include theoretical lectures, presentations, and discussions as team work in mix teams, simulations, role plays and using art methods and will be held in Stip, Macedonia. So this training course will equip its multipliers and empower them to influence our society’s attitudes towards the Minorities and show equality, democracy and inclusion as Europe really stands for.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Target group was Young leaders from 9 country: Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Romania, Estonia, Hungary, Albania, Italy and Turkey

Training methods used & main activities

The methodology will include communication based methods (interaction, dialogue, open discussions), activity based methods (sharing experience, practice and experimentation), socially focused methods (partnerships, teamwork, networking) and self directing methods (creativity, discovery, responsibility, action).
The overall character will be participative, pro active and interactive with a learner – centred educational approach, as recommended by Council of Europe for non formal education in youth work.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants will return home with more skills, competence and knowledge about minority, and also they learn some alternative tools for inclusion of Minority youth and about project making process with focus on the use of YiA Programme and some local resource.
Impact will be and on the personal level, Intercultural process which will be going on during the activity will influence participants.
