Social Rights are Human Rights Too

Aims & objectives

The Aim of the sutdy Session is to ask young people to commit and become the new generation of leaders in our communities, in our nations. Whatever you do - or may not do- has an impact on your environment! We are all part of a community and esponsible for the people living with us. Inclusion and participation are not just slogans but key concepts to build a bottom up democracy. We need to challenge the economic recession and to put in place a new political approach, a more inclusive one.
The objectives:
-for the young people to meet and discover other realities, to be able to express themselves about
their situation, to participate in a collective creation (video-clip) and become aware that they
belong to a community, to learn about their rights and feel valorised and empowered;
-for the youth & social workers to share and learn from practices of youth work and training about
social inclusion;
-for the organisations represented to get familiar with new tools about Education to Human Rights

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The participants were from Armenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Macedonia, Romania, Russia, Serbia, The Netherlands, Turkey and Ukraine.

Training methods used & main activities

Methodology: This study session was based on non-formal education. It was be participantscentred
(based on the needs and contributions of the participants).
Some used methods: individual work, small discussion groups, plenary work, group dynamics,
theoretical input about social inclusion, field visits, intercultural learning, self-reflection, practical
workshops, engaging art, etc.
Since several years, Y-E-N has developed working methods and working principles in order to
better contribute to the process of non-formal learning and to the personal and social Development of participants.
Program of the study session: “Social Rights are Human Right II!” combined sessions of group building, theoretical inputs, field visits, practice and transfer.

Outcomes of the activity

After study session, Young people, participants created and lunched the campaign Inclusion Express that lasts uptodate. The Campaign Inclusion Express is the main mission of Youth Express Network for 2015 willing to empower young people to become social inclusion activists in the society. The Campaign aims to target young people in Europe to be included and take part in fighting for youth social rights. All activites of the campaign are Youth led.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Preparation of info pack and workshop outlines, developing agenda with the team, leading at least one session per day, coordinating one session day, following on participants trough reflection groups and coordinating their work for the campaign

I worked on this training for 6 days as a full time trainer.
