TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Amr Kamel
The TOY training aimed to build the capacities of young people to design, implement, and lead social entrepreneurship initiatives within their communities. It focused on developing both technical and soft skills that youth need to become effective changemakers. The programme combined experiential learning, teamwork, business modelling, HRBA principles, and personal development.
Youth from Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon.
Non-Formal education approaches including, interactive workshops, group discussions, simulations and role-plays, peer-to-peer learning, problem-solving exercises, reflection circles, and hands-on activities. The activity encouraged participants to share experiences, collaborate in teams, practice new skills in real-life scenarios, and reflect on their learning, ensuring a participatory and learner-centered approach.
The training activity succeeded in increasing participants’ knowledge and practical understanding of social entrepreneurship, especially in areas such as identifying community needs, designing socially driven business models, and understanding financial sustainability. Participants also strengthened their regional networking skills by connecting with peers from different countries, exchanging project ideas, and forming cross-border collaborations that support future youth-led initiatives.
I served as the lead trainer, responsible for designing and delivering the TOT. My responsibilities included preparing the training curriculum, facilitating sessions, coordinating the trainer team, and conducting the evaluation of the training to ensure learning objectives were met.
