TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Julie Monnet
The aims were to fight against discrimination by learning on Social Justice and to work on a personal level (to become aware of our own privileges and oppressions).
The target group was : every person who would like to know more about Social Justice and who would be involved in inclusion projects or fight against discrimination projects. The TC was open to persons in situation of disability and so we had two whellchair users, one dyslexic pax and one visual impaired pax. Open to EU countries : France, Belgium, UK, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Turkey, Hungary, Iceland, Austria, Norway.
World café, theatre of oppressed, class race, ... this TC was based on a personal learning approach so most part of the activities had to be linked to personal experiences (participative and individual approaches).
We planned a field phase after the TC. During that period, each participant had to develop some activities / projects, linked to Social Justice and anti-discrimination topics. The success was obvious regarding the number and the quality of the projects developed.
We were a four trainers team plus two volunteers. We were all responsible for some sessions as well as for the mentoring of the participants during the field phase. I had to mentor 7 participants during that period. During the TC, I was mostly responsible for inclusion workshops, inclusive energizers and learning process.
