New Methods for Inclusion

The training activity took place
in Zagreb
organised by Association of deaf and hearing impaired
15.1. - 21.1.2016.

Aims & objectives

- To achieve the European dimension in the work of organisations, strenght the partnership and creat the nonformal network of organisations working with youth
- To improve the skills of youthworkers, especially for those working with youth with communication barriers
- To increase the social capital of deaf and hearing impaired youth and decrease the prejudice toward them
- to make a manual for nonformal education methods for youth with disabilities

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The group consisted of 25 youthworkers from 3 countries. Most of them work with young people with fewer opportunites. Countries involved in this project were Latvia, Romania and Croatia. Training course was a part of KA2 project.

Training methods used & main activities

A combination of different creative and interactive methods were used: Ice-breaking and Getting to know each other activities, Workshops, Discussion, Community project, Individual work and counselling, Theoretical Input, Presentations, Personal, group, and meta reflections and evaluations.

Outcomes of the activity

Important part was to prepare the youthworkers for development of non-formal education methods. Also, during the training course, we focused a lot on non-formal education, learning process and group facilitation with deaf/hearing impaired youth.
At the end of the course, participants developed 5 new methods for learning and inclusion.
