Aims & objectives

Let’s Bridge The Gap! (LBTG) was a training course under Action 3.1 of the YiA, that was hosted by CESIE in Palermo, Italy in a course of 9 days.

The TC promoted the sharing of best practices in the field of LGBT youth work. The project promoters shared the recognition of the increasing need to tackle the existing ideologies & stereotypes on sexuality-related issues among youth in different local contexts in the attempt to build a more inclusive EU society.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The TC involved 42 participants from 15 EU&EECA-Eastern Europe&Caucasus countries (Italy, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Netherlands, Ukraine).

The international team of trainers was composed of:

Training methods used & main activities

Non-formal education methods based on participatory learning
Theatre of the Oppressed
Creative workshops on preparing decors for the theatre of the Oppressed Sessions (Rainbow of Desire after the method of Augusto Boal)
Participation in Palermo Pride 2013

Outcomes of the activity

Building a network "Gay-Straight" Alliance of European Youth Workers from 23 countries
