Aims & objectives

• Provide youth workers with skills for using creative media tools (such as blogs, online platforms, web sites, social
networks, audio/video content, mobile and applications, etc.)
• Get deeper understanding in possibilities of digital online and offline tools and their practical usage in youth work
• Explore different innovative ways for effective usage of the digital media tools for outreaching and promotion
• Equip youth workers with competences to develop promotional and campaign plan of their activities

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Training was organized by Youth Peace Group Danube (Croatia) as applicant and hosting organization and it gathered 26 young workers from 13 different organizations from Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Macedonia, Italy, UK, Spain, Lithuania, Estonia, Serbia, Turkey and Slovenia. The training was facilitated by 3 experienced trainers - two from Serbia and one from Croatia.

Training methods used & main activities

Activity focused on combating discrimination and hate speech online through developing educational competences (the ability to use and share on line educational methods, tools and materials in youth work and non-formal learning) and practical skills (creating informational, communication and media tools). A variety of non-formal learning methods were applied: group work, individual work, role play, games, presentations, online tools, plenary discussions, simulations, energizers, group cohesion activities, etc.

Outcomes of the activity

During the training, youth workers have developed detailed plans of implementation of activities in their home organizations which involved using digital tools in youth work. Participants gathered forces to write a youth exchange, some to implement digital campaigns to promote the work of their organisation, or to fund raise for specific causes online. Each participant was involved in post-phase of the project where trainers gave individual support to every project to be implemented in the local organizations.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was a part of a three-person trainer's team and as such have participated in preparation of the training (development of activities, planning and preparation and online learning phase), execution of training activities (delivery of a 7 day residential course in Vukovar, Croatia) and follow-up phase and reporting (individual support to participants for implementation of their digital projects, evaluation and reporting of the training)

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.

Testimonial of the reference person

I worked on the preparation and implementation of this TC together with Martina and I can vouch for her professionalism and quality work as a trainer. She was very valuable member of the team in preparing methodology of the training, flow of each session and delivering the program. She was especially good at handling difficult participants and transforming conflicts and tensions in the group.
