Aims & objectives

Aim
was to strengthen youth workerrs or people having an affinity with youth work (as long as they are active in the local community) with a new tool for
increasing the quality of youth work. We recognized the question of asylum seekers and inclusion as a theme that is very important in all partner organizations and we presented it through simulation games as a nonformal learning, information and education tool for young people.
Social and economic circumstances in Africa and the Middle East and the war in Syria have contributed to an increased number of migrants, refugees and
asylum seekers who are looking for more security and better living conditions in European Union countries. We are talking about a large number of people
different ages, levels of education, work experience, religion who come from different cultural environments with different customs. It is very important to
firstly distinguish the terms of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. Young people in European countries, especially in rural enclosed communities, mostly
do not distinguish these terms and are not familiar with the procedure that the EU and the Member States implement when migrants enter the EU. Fact that
young people and the community as a whole are not informed about the rights and obligations of migrants in some EU countries, there is an increase in
radicalism and distrust towards the migrants who have already come and those who are still to come to community and society as a whole but to contribute to
the development of society and the EU as a whole through joint work. Through youth work, we recognized the need for a tool that would effectively contribute to the work of young people in youth empowerment with regard to tolerance, the importance of engagement and prevention and reduction of radicalism

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

There were 30 participants from Croatia,
Hungary, Romania, Armenia, Turkey, Estonia, Lithuania, Palestine, Bulgaria and Ukraine mostly aged 18-25 given that all partner organizations have young leaders in their communities that they have recognized as active individuals ready to achieve
changes, who are already active in their communities and / or organizations. One is a participant
was a minor (17 years old), who was accepted as a participant since the Erasmus + program is eligible
participant. For her, the partner organization provided an explanation that she is very active and prosperous, and s
whereas the Romanian partner organization works with schools, ie young people aged 15,
coaches in their organization become high school students who have been engaged in their organization from the beginning
high school which makes them very young. The participant also brought mandatory parental consent. Most
the participants were female, which is not surprising given that there are generally more women in this business than
tomboy. We have a long - standing partnership with the Romanian partner organization at
Erasmus + projects so that at no time was it questionable that the participant would not match the profile.
The training was attended by 17 people with fewer opportunities (geographical barriers, unemployed people, cultural differences).

Training methods used & main activities

Non-formal methods were used such as: role playing, brainstorming, barometer, energizers, icebreakers and most important simulation.
Simulation was used to introduce the main topic of the project. Through a numer of roles pariticipants had to come up with their own society in which certain groups are excluded.

Outcomes of the activity

The main result is a new method for youthwork - how to use simulation tool for inclusion.
Besides that participants improved their competences such as: literal, cultural. social and citizenship.
With monitoring and evaluation of every aspect of the training course we were able to measute the level of success.
