International Youth Training Course on Human Rights Education:“Empowering the Learning - Discovering the Rights”

Aims & objectives

The Training Course “Empowering the Learning – Discovering the Rights” aims to develop the capacity and to train 24 youth workers in the area of Human Rights Education, Learning through/about Human Rights and with a strong multiplying effect by developing the skills of a HR Educator.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

30 participants from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, France, Poland and Lithuania, representing a broad variety of cultural backgrounds, each with a different perception of human rights

Training methods used & main activities

A wide range of non-formal educational methods was used. Outdoor group building activities; video-materials; newspaper articles; creating collage of articles describing violation/respecting HR; discussions; work in small international groups; role-play; problem solving - case studies; expert study trips (Amnesty International in Chisnau); happening; flesh-mob; storytelling; energisers; assessing cappacity of participants as future trainers/multipliers; selfreflection; etc.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants from Georgia, Armenia and Poland pursued the topic of the TC and prepared follow up sessions on HR in their respective countries, acting as multipliers.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was a full-time trainer preparing and running most of the sessions or supporting the trainer from Moldowa (Viorica Topor).

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
