International Training Course "Fighting Youth Unemployment"

Aims & objectives

The aim and objectives of the TC were to allow the participants to gain knowledge and competencies, focusing on training of multipliers and on the development of future partnerships, networks and projects. The participants was therefore offered an opportunity to participate in a TC where they were involved into an intensive process of intercultural and non-formal learning, where they gained detailed knowledge of the Youth in Action programme and practical tools for improvement of one's personal, social and professional competence, how to stimulate mobility and active participation of unemployed young people, at the same time positively influencing their employability.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The TC gathered young people from four countries, namely Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Serbia who did not have chance (or in less than three events) to participate in non formal education events organized within the framework of the Youth in Action programme, as well as in other similar projects and events dedicated to youth employment problems.

Training methods used & main activities

The working methods were based on non-formal education and informal way of learning. This included: games, energizers, ice-breakers, team building exercises, individual and group activities, work on practical examples in a small groups, simulations, thematic workshops, discussions, debates, presentations...

Outcomes of the activity

Through the implemented activities the participants learned and shared their cultures and way of living, upgraded their personal capacities and, what’s most important, at the end of the project they developed future initiatives and projects in which unemployed young people with fewer opportunities are involved.
