Aims & objectives

The TC “Combating youth unemployment sustainably trough empowerment, volunteerism and entrepreneurship education” was aimed to gather youth workers and daily staff from youth centres, help and information centres, youth councils and other to exchange experiences, to gain skills and knowledge in the fields of volunteering, entrepreneurship education and empowerment of youth and develop strategies in fostering creative, independent, non-traditional ways of thinking and acting in business and employment prospects for youth.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Youth workers and daily staff from youth NGOs, youth centres, help and information centres and volunteers and other from EU27 and SEE partner countries

Training methods used & main activities

The use of non-formal methods as inputs and discussions in plenary sessions, exercises and simulations, thematic working groups and workshops, meetings and the use of open space provided knowledge and understanding. Emphasis was given on exchange non-formal educational practices and establishing links between the partners. The provision of information and referent documents on the themes (manuals, reports, surveys) was aimed to develop youth worker’s skills and enhancing their engagement to develop future co-operation. The main part of the programme consisted of group works to generate learning and reflection

Outcomes of the activity

The TC was contributing to the development of the single participants and partners which are able to apply the issues empowerment, volunteerism and entrepreneurship education in their future work with their target groups.
