Aims & objectives

The main aim of this project is to raise awareness of discrimination through media to public on local/national level.The project creates multiplier effects such as usage of media generally, development of public relation, creating of new co-operation and partnerships, the inclusion of young people with less opportunities into these kind of programmes, to improve the skills, qualifications and personal development of the participants, to search for the innovative character of their working methods, themes and target groups. As principal aims, we try to: stimulate cooperation and network between local youth / between youth in the international level also, to find most problematic kind of discrimination today in each country, to break stereotypic thinking and to put the way of other thinking - we each are equal and good.


Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Target group: 30 youth workers, social workers, young journalists, youth leaders from France, Lithuania, Latvia, POland, Moldavia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Romania

Training methods used & main activities

The methods used were oriented on gaining necessary information about the subject and to be used practically in workshops. Mainly the information/theory gained consist of seminars, provided by specialists on the concrete subject, including representatives of media and specialists on the discrimination issue. As well included individual work at home, meaning – preparing necessary information available at the concrete country and using it afterwards in seminars and workshops. And as an information gaining method the intercultural dimension and experience sharing were used, debates among the participants and some experts on the subject as well. Not only the theoretical information was provided, but also we were looking to practice by simulation games and analyzing case studies.

Outcomes of the activity

As concrete outcomes at the end of the training we edited a newspaper having topics linked with discrimination, edited a short Tv spot and created the motivation and skills for all the participants to continue fight discrimination in their countries.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

During the program, I was responsible for Simulation Games, Dilemma and Debriefings, TV-radio-newspaper Spots/workshops, Evaluation.

I worked on this training for 6 days as a full time trainer.
