TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Amr Kamel
The training activity aimed to raise awareness about the links between environmental challenges and gender inequality through the lens of ecofeminist theory. It addressed the need for young people and youth workers to better understand how environmental degradation disproportionately affects women due to structural inequality, social exclusion, and limited access to resources. It also responded to the need for stronger youth leadership by introducing feminist pedagogy as a framework to rethink leadership models, promote equal participation, and empower young women and men to engage in decision-making processes.
Youth from France, Greece, Italy, Palestine, Romania, Slovenia, Russia, Spain, and Tunisia.
Non-Formal education approaches including, interactive workshops, group discussions, simulations and role-plays, peer-to-peer learning, problem-solving exercises, reflection circles, and hands-on activities. The training activity successfully increased participants’ knowledge and understanding of social entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, and feminist leadership approaches, while also enhancing regional networking among youth workers and civil society actors. Success can be observed through participants’ active engagement in discussions, practical exercises, and collaborative projects, as well as participants reported improved confidence in promoting gender equality, environmental awareness, and leadership initiatives.
