organised by American Councils for International Education
March 25-28, 2010

Aims & objectives

The aim of the conference was to bring FLEX Alumni from different countries together in one place and provide them with resources and knowledge of how they could empower their communities back home. FLEX is Future Leaders Exchange Program, funded by US Department of State, Department of Cultural and Educational Affairs, and carried out by American Councils for International Education.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The target group of annual FLEXability involves alumni of FLEX program from Eastern European countries covered by the program. Trainers are also people from these respective several countries and a few American individuals from the office.

Training methods used & main activities

Since FLEXability is a conference held in an environment of international active alumni, conference style innovative seminars, highly interactive workshops based on co-working, idea generation and team-building, and discussion panels were the primary training methods used during the conference.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

As a trainer and co-organizer of this conference, I gave workshops on activities of Georgian alumni community and how volunteerism can be fostered, how to establish community outreach, and engage alumni in ongoing activities.

I worked on this training for 4 days as a full time trainer.
