Diversity through Media Education

The training activity took place

Aims & objectives

* Getting familiar with the basics of media education and why is it useful in youth work
* Learning how different medias work and impact on us
* Practicing how different medias can be used in intercultural learning in youth work

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The team of trainers and participants were from the following countries: Austria, Iceland, UK, Sweden, Armenia, Russia and Cyprus

Training methods used & main activities

- Open space
- Workshops on drama, music and visual arts
- interactive lectures
- Vienna city hunt as a teambuilding activities

Outcomes of the activity

The participants learned how media impacts on the way we see and experience the world around us as well as different people. They also learned how to work with media reading skills with young people.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was the team leader responsible for the team of trainers. I was also responsible for the application and the report of the activity.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
