Communication with various public

The training activity took place
in Chisinau, Moldova
organised by Institute for youth development KULT
13-15 November 2013

Aims & objectives

The main goal of this training module was to introduce the basics of communication, including communications skills and elements of communication strategy, for youth leaders from 5 different countries. There is a permanent need among youth organization to rise their communication capacities, taking into account large amount of activities they are working on and need to communicate, as well as changing trends when it comes to communication tools and habits. This is in line with the organization's mission to foster youth development in the region of Western Balkans.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Participants represented various youth organizations from Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, and Kyrgyzstan.

Training methods used & main activities

I used various learning methods in order to transfer the knowledge on participants, and make them develop their individual skills. This includes presentations, group discussion, work in small groups, simulation games, and individual consultations.

Outcomes of the activity

There are four main indicator of this training success:

Participants are able to critically analyse media content and messages channeled through public media,

Participants are 'equipped' with the most important skills related to writing (press releases, effective posts on social networks), they differ comments from facts, and are able to select facts,

Participants are familiar with the most important features and tasks of public (oral) presentation, and

Participants are able to create effective strategy of communication for their organization, based on real needs and available resources.

I was creator of this course, and main trainer / facilitator.

I worked on this training for 4 days as a full time trainer.
