Aims & objectives

The main aim of the project is educate and promote awareness with youth in terms of the prevention of diseases related to an unhealthy environment, divided into 5 topics - Water resources, Environmental sanitation, Climate change, Personal hygiene and youth events organizing.
- Develop an awareness and sensitivity to nature;
- Facilitate personal growth and healthy lifestyles;
- Promote activities and behavior which is respectful of the environment;
- Promote mutual learning and exploration of ecological issues on local as well as global level;
- Engage youth in active participation through taking responsibility and initiative;
- Organise «ECO day» for local youth in Rustavi city.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

30 youth leaders from Youth from Central, North, South Europe and Caucasus(Armenia, Georgia, Latvia, Slovakia, German, Norway)

Training methods used & main activities

Through the activities we followed the Kolb cycle, i.e. experiencing – observing and reflecting – giving theoretical background – linking with reality and develop participants’ skills, attitudes, and knowledge in different areas, connected to the rural development. All the sessions combine theoretical input with interactive exercises and tools for youth empowerment.
The whole project was mainly practice oriented and was a platform for generating and developing new ideas for environmental protection and youth participation.The programme was based on non-formal education methodology and techniques. To our main methods belong: open space, experiential learning, practical workshops, working in small groups and in plenary, open discussions, debates, simulations, role plays, outdoors, study visit etc.

Outcomes of the activity

Youth aware and responsible on environmental issues, 7 new follow-up projects to be implemented back home.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was a co-facilitator, responsible for the preparation and implementation of certain sessions within the programme along with my colleague.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
