Trainer-Consultant in the field of youth and intercultural education

Work experience

Mary has been a professional trainer since 2008. After acquiring a BA from the English Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an MA in Conference interpreting from the University of Cyprus in Nicosia, she was trained between 2008-2013 in project management, training, youth policy and human rights education in three long-term training courses organized by the Council and Europe and SALTO in France, Germany and Hungary. In 2012 she entered the Trainers’ Pool of the Council of Europe and since then, she has been contracted as senior trainer/facilitator, consultant and rapporteur in various projects, mainly within the following topics: youth policy and participation, intercultural dialogue, employability skills, social entrepreneurship, prevention of radicalization and extremism, education and innovation. She has a multifaceted professional experience, from grassroots youthwork in post-conflict regions, refugee camps and disadvantaged neighborhoods to project design, facilitation and organization of seminars and congresses. She is a member of the Trainers’ Pool of the Council of Europe and of the Hellenic Trainers’ Platform. She has been engaged as a facilitator and consultant for international organizations such as the Council of Europe and the United Nations, as well as for regional NGOs and governmental bodies. Her articles have been published among others by SALTO, the Youth Partnership between the European Union and the Council of Europe and Routledge. She has lived and worked in various parts of the world, such as Syria, Morocco, Turkey, Spain and Cyprus. At the moment, she is based in the Balkans, sharing her activities between Greece and Kosovo. She is a PhD Candidate in Cross-cultural studies at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is a fluent speaker of 7 languages.
