Educational pathway

Academic education:
• Academic year 2001 – 2002: Master in Middle East Studies (Master Degree)

It was important to me for deepening the knowledge on Middle Eastern countries from a present point of view, focusing on historical politics and international politics, economics and jurisdiction and ethnical-religious aspects.
• Academic year 1991/1992 – Academic year 1996/1997: Degree in Oriental Languages and Literatures; Università di Venezia “Cà Foscari”, Faculty of Oriental Languages and Cultures, Venice, ITALY
It gave me a wide and deep education on the culture of Middle Eastern countries, focusing mainly on Arabic language and Arabic literature, Islamic studies, history, economical geography, art history of Middle Eastern countries. It gave me the possibility of experiencing directly living in Arabic societies by obtaining several ministerial and European grants for studying abroad. It gave also the possibility of writing a dissertation on a novel of the Nobel Prize Naguib Mahfouz and to interview him in Cairo.

Non-formal education and vocational training:
• from November 2004 - November 2006: TATEM - Training Active Trainers in Euro-Med Youth Work - The Council of Europe (Directorate for Youth and Sport – Budapest), The European Commission, SALTO Euro-Med Resource Centre (INJEP – Paris) within the Covenant on Euro – Mediterranean Youth Training
It was for me the jumping board for being really ACTIVE in the field of HRE and ICL in the EM context. It was important for gaining lots of knowledge and expertises in the field but above all for reaching a solid self-confidence of me as a trainer. It gave also the important chance to set friendships and working networks.
• June 2004 - April 2005 - Vocational Training for International Cooperation Operator
CESVOT (Tuscan Volunteering Services Centre); IAO (Agronomic Institute for the Overseas Countries); The Municipality of Florence; The European Union; the UNESCO Centre of Florence
It was important for acquiring skills and competences in the field of international project managing, by focusing on political and economical geography; instruments, methodologies and actors of the international cooperation to development, intervention projecting, project cycle management and logical framework approach, fund raising techniques, techniques for the evaluation of the social impact of the interventions.
• April 2004 - Training Course “Citizenship matters: the participation of women and minorities in Euro-Med Youth Projects” - Council of Europe and The European Commission in co-operation the Swedish Institute in Alexandria (EGYPT)
It was the first contact with the Euro-Med programme and deepened my knowledge on human rights, minorities rights, women rights, intercultural learning, methodology in youth education and training in the Euro-Med context.
• Academic year 2001-2002 -Third University Multi-Disciplinary Course on Development Education -UNICEF Italy in cooperation with Istituto Agronomico per l’Oltremare, Florence, ITALY
it gave me the possibility of getting in touch with thematic as international organizations and development cooperation, procedures for development education, globalization and its consequences in the world and in local identities, procedures for a multi-ethnical and multi-cultural society.
