My BA and MA gave me a good basis for understanding complex topics related to developmental psychology and teaching and learning methodologies. Additionally it is when I started working in the NGO sector, on the topics of Human Rights and Mental Health.
Among the many non-formal courses I have taken, the most noteworthy are:
Youth and Adults Mental Health First Aid course - accredited by Mental Health First Aid England, which grants me the qualification of a Mental Health First Aider.
During the courses I received an in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing; practical skills to spot the triggers, signs and symptoms of mental health issues; confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress; enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening;
knowledge to guide someone towards appropriate help and support, such as self-help resources, their employer, or emotional support services.
YOCOMO Training of Trainers - prepared me as a trainer to design and implement competence-based trainings for youth workers. During the training I increased my knowledge of the ETS competence model for youth workers working internationally and how to use this model for self-assessment. I also learnt a lot about the systemic approach to competence development.
HOP CRASH COURSE for trainers and facilitators of online learning - I improved my competences concerning creating online courses in different formats and I expanded my knowledge on using the HOP platform.
