Youth Oracle is a methodology aiming the creation of proposals for local Youth policies, based on the Delphi Method.
The methodology of "Youth Oracle":
* Raise awareness in youngsters and actors in the Youth field about the importance of Youth Policies;
* Identify critical and prioritary points in the Youth fiel;
* Propose strategies and actions for Youth policies at a local level;
* Promote structured dialog as a path for the creation, implementation and monitorization of Youth policies.
“Oráculo Jovem” [EN: Youth Oracle] was a project that aimed the development of a meetings between young people and different actors in the Youth field (political organizations, youth organizations, schools, entreprises, city hall departments among others) for the production of an online hypermedia document with youth political proposals, initially for the municipality of Seixal - Portugal.
The preparation of the meeting and the hypermedia document was developed on a participatory process inspired on Delphi method. With “Oráculo Jovem”, there were, in the preparation phase, several interviews done in pairs (a youngster and an expert), discussing and exchanging ideas regarding different topics regarding Youth policies at a local level. These interviews were done in different spaces (secondary schools and youth centers).
Afterwards, youngsters actively participated in a meeting where they identified topics of intervention, specific problems and causes - with these they will propose political solutions regarding Youth Policies.
The proposals and the documentation of the process behind the project were organized in a single hypermedia online document [check out http://oraculojovem.rato-adcc.pt ] that was presented to different political parties and municipal structures.
