The Learning Curve is an online guide that offers guidance and assessment tools for youth workers in the field of peacebuilding to be able to better plan, monitor and evaluate their work in order to learn from it for the future.

Aims of the tool

The main aim of the tool is to support youth organisations in increasing their capacity of reflecting on their work and thereby becoming better in explaining their latest achievements and improving their future work.

Description of the tool

The Learning Curve. A guide to Evaluation for Youth Organisations is a tool to support young peacebuilders in improving their practices with the aim to make their peacebuilding work more sustainable.

The guide has been developed in the context of a longterm partnership called Youth Impact: Strengthening Organizational Capacities to Build Peace in Europe – funded by the Erasmus+ Programme – implemented by the International Secretariat of the United Network of Young Peacebuilders in partnership with five European UNOY members, namely Service Civil International (SCI), Fundación Catalunya Voluntaria (FCV), Peace Action, Training and Research Institute of Romania (PATRIR), Centro Internazionale per la Promozione dell’Educazione e lo Sviluppo (CEIPES) and European Intercultural Forum (EIF).

This guide is based on an in-depth research and analysis conducted by the six organisations mentioned above. The research focused on the current monitoring, evaluation and learning practices in youth peace organisations in Europe, and identified what needs to be done to improve them.

The guide is:
- A tool to learn about necessary elements of planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning
- A tool to assess current practises in monitoring, evaluation and learning in order to identify strengths and weaknesses.
- A repository of good practice in the field and available tools, tips and resources to improve youth peacebuilding work.
