This group building activity lets participants create actions that make the people living in the local community happier through a number of happiness actions!

Aims of the tool

The aim of this exercise is
- let people work together;
- feel comfortable with sharing ideas in smaller groups;
- create a good atmosphere in the group;
- Have an impact on the local community.

Description of the tool

You explain to participants that they need to form a happy company. This company has a goal to make people that are present at the venue/town happier than they were before we came here. The company has a number of sub-divisions (4 to 5 people per division)

Makng people happy can be done through actions for individuals or groups. It can be directly with people or it can be something that stays and people can discover . It is important not to copy what has been done already but invent something "new". Some examples that have been done in the past: free hugs, ask people what makes them happy, put quotes on the walls that make people smile,....

Concrete tasks:
1. As a group create x sub-divisions that stimulate happiness at venue/town. Each sub-division should have a name and a simple logo.
2. Each group has 45 min to dream up and prepare the action.
3. Groups meet in the plenary and share the actions they have prepared with the other group
4. The whole group will then implement the actions together.
