Manual
The focus of this practise manual is on tackling hate speech and/or hateful behaviour in youth settings, specifically on how to recognise, manage and transform it. It is one of the outcomes of the strategic partnership between 5 partners.
It is designed to support youth workers engaging with young people who express hateful speech and/or behaviour in youth settings.
This practise manual provides theoretical knowledge on on how to recognise, manage and transform hate speech and/or hateful behavour in a youth setting. What makes it different is that it focuses on transformative and reflective pratises to enable transformation of the person causing harm - it relies on compassion and empathy. It provides both theoretical knowledge on the concept of hate speech, specifically looking to understand systems of opression in the backgroud of it, and how we, as individuals reinforce them; as well as the reflections on one's role and responsibility to understand what they bring into the space..
