This report intends to be helpful to Youth associations which work with Young people with special needs, in particular effected by the Down Syndrome.The report suggests a preparatory training activity useful in project concerning participative rights.
The report summarize the concrete experience of communication and training within project concerning the topics of EU citizenship and Youth political participation. It shows that a fruitful international experience is possible going over all the prejudices.
The document is useful for those Youth organisations that intend including all the category of Young people, offering them suggestions for a path in which the youngsters may understand gradually the project topic, which indeed may be difficult for persons with intellectual disability. In terms of Learning outcomes the report suggest a model that can be replicated, adapted and used in similar projects, stimulating new partnerships and exchanges of best practices.
