Aims of the tool

To:
- share drama-action model with educators
- promote use of drama and performative arts tools in (non-)formal education and in working with people with disability

Description of the tool

Manual is intended for education workers and all others who are interested in using drama-action model and performative tools in their educational, art, research or advocacy/activism work.

This free "Educathe+ C8 I am Free manual for educators" is available in English language and it represents the first of nine manuals that will be published during our KA2 Strategic partnership Educational theatre as the place for raising inclusion and employability of people with disability (2015-2017).

The partnership is coordinated by Association for prevention of stigmatisation and education through theatre (UPSET) from Zagreb (Croatia), and financed by Erasmus+ and the European Commission.

The Manual describes the drama-action model which is suitable for all those working in (non-)formal education, research, art/culture or activism.

Drama-action model combines advantages of scientific research with those of performative arts in order to create educational, research, advocacy (civil activist) results. The model was developed by a doctor of sociology Ivan Hromatko during his two year research for dissertation “Theatre as the space for action research on stigmatization” at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at University of Zagreb (Croatia).

During the development of the model, it was shown that drama-action model is suitable for working with any age group; in local or international settings; and in working with people with disability (or groups which have communication obstacles). It is also suitable for working with any sensitive social topic and with marginalised groups of any kind.

By using this Manual you will learn how to recreate your own drama-action workshop and get inspired to use performative tools in your (non-)formal educational work.
