The Handbook reports experiences collected during "Active Telling, Active Learning" Europe for Citizens project, with advice for future implementation of the HL technique. A section with video Books recorded in 5 countries with WWII witnesses is included.

Aims of the tool

This handbook aims at providing guidance for the organisations, youth workers, teachers and public bodies who want to implement the Human Library method, giving examples of good and bad practices observed during the “Active Telling, Active Learning” project in each of the partner countries. With the creation of a Handbook with video Books, the desire is collecting and preserving oral testimonies, so that we, and especially younger generations have the opportunity to understand the events of WWII and can learn from mistakes from the past.

Description of the tool

The Handbook collects the experiences and materials produced during "Active Telling, Active Learning", project funded by Europe for Citizens, focused on WWII remembrance in five different European countries (Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia).
The Handbook contains good and bad practices and experience from all the partner countries of the project, aiming at providing guidance and advice for future implementation of the Human Library method.
A section with video Books follows, containing testimonies shared by direct and indirect witnesses of WWII in five different countries and recorded during the project.
Through the creation of this Handbook with video Books, the aim is to collect and to preserve oral testimonies, so to give the opportunity to understand our common history as European Citizens and learn from the mistakes of the past.
