The tool gives an opportunity to present the organizations working within the project and also foster the cooperation among NGO's for further plans. It is a tool that helps finding common ground for cooperation.

Aims of the tool

The session is aimed at giving the opportunity for representatives of NGO’s to present their organization and to find common points for cooperation with other NGO’s during the project.

Description of the tool

The trainer announces a revolutionary opening in cooperation, which happens in the 6-D cinema.

Firstly, the trainer reveals two points for working in the same country groups. Step one is to DEFINE core information about the organization and mainly: the name, the location, the aim, the target group, the best events and contacts. The second step is to DESCRIBE what kind of cooperation is the organization seeking. It can be a concrete project, a topic or a broader idea which they would like to work on. The groups are given 20 minutes to prepare a 1.5 min. teaser of their organization.

After preparing the teasers, the organizations present them in front of everybody. After the presentations are done the participants are asked to break into groups of interest and approach a person from another organization(s) to start cooperation. Thus, if different people from different NGO’s get interested in different cooperation ideas they can break down and join them. Then the trainer reveals the later 3 steps. The third step is DREAM, where participants can elaborate on the idea of cooperation and talk about a concrete action, project or event. The fourth step is DELEGATE, where participants divide tasks on to who will take charge, who will write which parts, who will be the one who applies and so on. The fifth stage is DRAW, where participants draw a poster with their newly created idea and partners, that they have gathered during the session. For this the groups have 40 minutes. Then the groups can present their posters in a very quick 1 minute elevator pitch exercise.

During the debriefing the trainer points out the sixth and most important element of the cinema, which is DO. Without the DO all good ideas stay as ideas and nothing more.
