Youth against Disinformation and Misinformation

We are looking for co-applicants as CSOs working related to Media Freedom and Freedom of Expression, including countering disinformation and misinformation. The focus of the call is to countering disinformation and misinformation in media through improving media literacy, networking, monitoring and advocacy.

The Countries: the Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, the Republic of North Macedonia, the Republic of Serbia (hereafter ‘Western Balkans’), and the Republic of Turkey.

The Program :
EU Civil Society Facility and Media Programme in favour of the Western Balkans and Turkey for 2021-2023 (IPA III)

The Global objective of the Call : An overall vision of enhanced regional cooperation, good neighbourly relations and reconciliation, to strengthen participatory democracies and the EU approximation process in the Western Balkans and Turkey.

The specific objective of the Call:
 Strengthened CSO capacities and engagement opportunities in policy- and decision making across various thematic areas, including those addressed by the EIP;
 Enhanced neighbourly relations between Serbia and Kosovo;
 Increased capacity of journalist professional organisations and networks; and
 Enhanced professional capacity of journalists, media outlets and media institutions to exercise the right to freedom of expression and access to information and to promote media pluralism.

Media Freedom and Freedom of Expression, including countering disinformation and misinformation

The Expected Outputs of the Project:
 An international network of media literacy against disinformation and misinformation
 An International Virtual Media Literacy Club with focus on Young People
 Cross-borders monitoring and advocacy community, functioning against disinformation and misinformation

The Lead Applicant: All Communication and Media Federation from Turkey

Co-applicants: CSOs working related to media freedom, journalism, or media literacy, disinformation and misinformation from aforementioned Western Balkan Countries. Media/journalism CSOs are strongly encouraged.

Duration: 36 to 48 months

Sector/Theme: Media freedom and freedom of expression; media literacy, countering disinformation and misinformation

Location of the action: Turkey and at least at four Western Balkan Countries aforementioned above.

Project Budget: About EUR 1,300,000.00
