YOUNG PEOPLE BETWEEN TRADITION AND MODERNITY

MOBILITY PROJECT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE. CALL FOR PARTNERS - ERASMUS+ KA1 MOBILITY OF YOUNG PEOPLE.

SCHOOL PRESENTATION

Aninoasa School in Dambovita County is an institution which educates people under the slogan "Together, we shape the people of tomorrow". The training and education are provided by a team of 26 teachers fully qualified, whose general aims are not only to educate minds and shape characters but also to make young people understand and value all the resources existing in their community be it human, material, cultural, geographical, and historical. The school staff permanently organize extracurricular activities on various occasions: anniversaries, historical and cultural events.
Aninoasa School aims at creating a favorable environment for lifelong learning, where each student has a chance to develop their personality in order to become responsive to the ever changing society. Our school provides a safe environment as long as psychological comfort which support the development of young people personality. We encourage responsability, discipline, creativity altogether setting the basis of active minds and good health.
We want to meet each student’s need to gain and use information, to become open-minded to change, learning and complying with the values of society.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Although our school is located in an area with a variety of resources that can be used for designing and carrying on free time activities for the youth, at the community level, we are faced with low involvement of young people. We have analysed the facts and we have come to the conclusion that the causes of this problem are: the low degree of attractiveness and complexity of the activities, the geographical position close to Targoviste town, as well as the misconceptions of the families living in our community related to the opportunities provided by the urban area.
We are experiencing difficulties related to the: low appreciation and use to of local resources, lack of opportunities for the training of potential coordinators of extra-curricular activities and the lack of vision at the level of the community. The wide range of the activities proposed by the providers in urban areas, shaped in accordance with the interests of the young people ont he one hand and the lack of qualified staff endowed with corresponding skills and motivation in carrying out such activities on the other hand have led to the absence or low participation of young people to our activities. Another cause is poor education, social, and cultural development of the families of young people which generates prejudices related to the life in the rural area.
These are the causes why the young people in our community set out for places that offer them attractive activities, choosing to ignore the resources existing at the level of their own community. In most cases, the young people leave their community, influenced by their family’s belief that mere orientation towards the urban environment is the key to their personal success.
The project "Young People between tradition and modernity" aims at designing and implementating a wide range of extracurricular activities in accordance with the interests and skills of the young people of the community. The objectives of this project are: increasing the level of knowledge in the field of non-formal education for most of the young people coming from the rural environment; the development in the participants of skills and abilities to design and carry on non-formal activities, in agreement with their own interests through the dissemination of good practice; the promotion of the benefits offered by the community of origin through intercultural dialog throughout the duration of the project; the consolidation of the multicultural dimension of the non-formal activities included in the project, in the mind of the majority of young people in the target group, through cooperation between the partner countries, throughout the duration of the project.
