DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANIZATION/GROUP
Gettini di vitalba, soc. Coop. sociale,founded in 2002, is located in Crotone, Via Cavour,7/9, registered in the office of Prefettura and Chamber of commerce of Crotone.

DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITIES OF THE ORGANIZATION/GROUP :

“gettini di vitalba” promotes cultural development through Danilo Dolci’s method in education, improving artistic expression.

“gettini di vitalba” organizes art and craft activities, mostly ceramics and textiles, working together with different associations operating in voluntary service in the territory,

“gettini di vitalba” collaborates with other no-profit associations of the City of Crotone and province, among them “Sette Soli” involved in cultural activities such as historical research, archaeology, artistic/cultural heritage. The person in charge is Margherita Corrado, historian, archaeologist, author of publications on Middle Ages, , Byzantine art and culture of Mediterranean area.
The aim of this exchange project is the food tradition of myth and archaeology of Mediterranean area.
This project includes workshops in little farms and cooking typical dishes of the countries involved. All the results will be represented through painting works and shown in public.

THE EXCHANGE PROJECT
We would like to organize an Exchange project with young people who love to know historical traditions from their own country mixing with archaeology and history. We will study the historical origin and use and execution methods of food as: wheat, bread, wine, honey, olive oil, milk cheese, meat and fish. All the results of this project will be represented in public through painting, drawing and engraving works.
The young people involved should be 15-18 years old and every country should be represented by no more than 5 male and female young people.
The participants should practice once in their own typical dish. The projects includes also outdoor excursions to know landscapes and way of conversations, food cultivations of our local areas.
