UMvoluntariis - Volunteer Initiatives in Higher Education

The main objective of this project is to promote volunteering inside Higher Education Institutions and create awareness among the academic community. The project aims at receiving 4/5 volunteers to be involved in several projects/activities developed by UMinho, namely:

1) Support the Office for Inclusion (GPI)
The GPI aims to promote inclusion in the academic environment, aiming at equal opportunities, and to provide support to students, teachers and other workers with disabilities or special needs.

2) Support the Resource Center for Cooperation and Development (CRCD)
The CRCD Works in strategic areas such as Education for Development, Global Citizenship, Cooperation for Development and Cooperation in emergency and fragile contexts. The CRCD bases its work on values of solidarity, social justice and human dignity.

3) Support the Office Interaction with Society (GIS)
The GIS is an interdepartmental structure that was created in 2010 in conjunction with the Presidency of Institute of Education of UMinho. This office coordinates and implements the activities of interaction with society, working with Tertiary Education Institutions, Schools, Municipalities and Associations, among other educational institutions.

4) Support the International Relations Office (SRI)
The SRI is the unit responsible for the operational coordination, monitoring and support to the development of all initiatives related to the internationalisation of education, namely in the scope of academic cooperation and mobility.
