TO BE here TO BE me. The conquest of public places for youth participation and youth learning.

KA1 mobility for youth workers project targeting organizations working with young people to reflect on the role of the public space as an educational element

Our idea is to create a KA1 mobility for youth workers project during the third week of October, targeting organizations working with young people, in order for them to reflect on the role of the public space as an educational element and to improve our skills as youth workers in this field.

The physical space is one of the vital conditions that marks our daily agenda and manifests itself continuously in decisions like where do I go to satisfy a need, the difficulties I have to access certain services, or where I am going to interact with my peers.

The young people, being newly entered players in the public space board game, are testing what the rules of the street are like and how they can move or relate to them. In their process of growth and self-affirmation it is important that they feel to have
a gap in the predominance adult space, feel that they are also protagonists of the public site.
In this course we will discuss the importance of spaces for young people, such as youth centers, for example, as a learning and empowerment process; and how to treat that space as an effective educational tool.

Goals
- To reflect about the place we occupy in each context
- To understand youth places as educational tool
- To promote the implementation of autonomous spaces for young people.
- To encourage physical and emotional care in learning spaces
To put together guidelines about good practices in the use of the public space as an educational element

Contents
- The conquest of public places as an empowerment process
- The public space as a facilitator of learning
- Inclusive and welcoming space distribution
- Education through context.
