"She-Farm Life" project is a project meant to boost nutrition and economic standards of women living with HIV through livestock farming and vegetable growing.
She-Farm Life project is a project intended to boost the nutrition and economic standards of women living with HIV in a rural setting of Busunju Mityana district Uganda. She- farm life project will be a farming project in mainly vegetable growing and livestock farming in order for the women with HIV to improve their nutrition and also be able to help them have the money for transportation to their health centers to fetch their medicine and also have their bodies fed well to be able to hold the strength of their medication and that of their children still born with the disease.
This project activities will be mainly poultry for sale and consumption, piggery for sale and growing of vegetables like spinach, cabbages, cucumber, amaratus, tomatoes, green vegetables , onions for both consumption to boost their nutrition and for sale to get money to be able to reach their health centers.
The main beneficiaries are rural mothers living with HIV and their children of the same status.
She- farm life project was suggested after seeing that
the lives of about 90 mothers living with HIV in Busunju village was deteriorating day by day due to to poor feeding and missing out on their treatment collection because they had lost their their small earning business in the covid 19 lock down because there was no transportation to reach their gardens and their animals died and their food plantations destroyed to zero because of no care taker due to long distances without public transport and government restrictions not to mix up with others.
Now they have come up with a slogan " when food is there, no medicine and when medicine is there no food.
That's why we have come up to write this project to help them get the seedings and fertilizers and animals plus birds to start up again and then be pushed for about one year providing veterinary services and better methods of farming through training, they will be able to stand again and thereby able to feed well and transport themselves and their positive children to health centers for the treatment.
Therefore I call upon partners to join hands with Relief Teenage and Marital Counselling Foundation ( RETMAC FOUNDATION) to mobilize funds by writing a good project document and be able to help these vulnerable population.
