Radar youth is an initiative of the City of Lugo, whose main objective is to provide a continuous channel of communication and interactive relationship between the young people of the city and local government. To achieve this goal, each of the participating cities: Lugo (Spain), Mesão Frio (Portugal) and Alessandria (Italy), select a group of young people who act as "radar" among his comrades, gathering information about their interests and needs, and conveying the range of activities for young people of the City. Also, this project wants to increase the participation of youth in democratic life, to thereby promoting their involvement in the implementation of municipal budgets of each of the cities.
During the twelve months of the project, funding organizations will share knowledge from their experience and management models. In addition, focusing on the good practice of radars, the young participants and virtual meetings to keep a blog, from which selected the most interesting ideas to implement in relation to participatory budgeting; those that have special relevance fight for social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. A workshop also transnational ideas in Lugo, to show in situ operation of the "radar" and a final workshop to disseminate the results in Brussels.
