The Partner-Finding Tool
“Mobil’access 4all” aims at sending young people with disabilities abroad on short-term volunteering missions (59 days maximum).
The association "Parcours Le Monde - Grand Ouest" (PLMGO) aims to promote and develop, through formal and non-formal education, European and international mobility, intercultural dialogue and citizenship. PLMGO’s actions particularly target young people (16-25) who are far from mobility, with fewer opportunities, the objectives being their empowerment, as well as their social and professional integration.
Young people with disabilities often face prejudices and encounter various obstacles to mobility and/or in their personal and professional development such as educational difficulties (stopping studies or not studying at all), and economic obstacles (unsuitable training and studies). Thus, these young people have little or no experience of international mobility, may lack self-confidence, and are questioning their future plans. Our role as a sending and leading structure is to make them aware that European mobility is also an option for them, even if they have specific needs, few diplomas or experience, and that they can give themselves time to find their way. Today, too few young people with disabilities have the opportunity to demonstrate their motivation and their capacity for commitment to the service of others. Volunteering can give them confidence, new opportunities to learn and be recognized for their skills, and the desire to pursue training/studies.
We will send 3 volunteers between July 2023 and July 2024. The volunteering activities must involve either:
- Climate action & Environment
- Youth & Children
- Intercultural dialogue
- New Technologies & Digital skills
As the target group is composed of young people with disabilities, they require a strengthened tutoring adapted to their specific needs, both by the sending and the hosting organization We are looking for partners able and willing to host young people with disabilities, sharing our values regarding social inclusion.
