Make your voice HeaRD: Youth workers as influencers for the promotion of Human Rights and Democracy

We are looking for partners only from Germany for an approved training course, which will be implemented in Thessaloniki, Greece during the summer of 2020

The TC will last for 7 days total (6 working plus 1 travel day) and the organisation has to send 3 participants.

United Societies of Balkans (USB) will organise an ERASMUS+ training course for motivated youth
workers and youth leaders who will explore the
challenges of their communities related to human
rights, active citizenship and democracy.
Participants will furthermore develop professional
skills related to the use of social media in online
activism.

Through this process, participants will discover the
following topics:
-Human Rights
-Democracy
-Digital youth work
-Online activism
-Social media
-Youth workers as influencers

The project will take place in Thessaloniki,
Greece during the summer of 2020 and will include 21 youth workers and youth leaders from 7 European countries with facilitators and trainers from Greece,

The project aims to develop social media related professional skills of participants and understanding about their role in building democratic societies and a culture of human rights . This will happen through non-formal education and creative activities such as
photography, blogging and social campaign case studies.

The project is developed as a follow-up to the successful COMPASS ‘Storytelling for Human
Rights - National Training Course in Greece’ project that was co-funded by the Council of Europe in 2019.

Throughout the training course, participants will explore concepts such as digital youth, online activi sm and will develop their media and communication skills which they can use in their actual work with young people as a tool for promoting Human
Right s .

Participants will be able to use social media as a way of influencing young people and to generate social media content, project s or intitiatives in their local, regional or European communities that will influence and invole young people and lead them towards building a more socially active, inclus ive society and
generation which reflects on the current global, regional and local challenges related to Human Right s
and Democracy.
