Make SDGs great again

Sustainable development goals for youth workers.

Partners: 2 program country ,2 partner country
Number of participants: 6 participant per country (5 participants + group leader)
Age of participant: 18-30
Location and duration:
Georgia: 15/04/2021-21/04/2021

The aim of the project is to raise awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Agenda 2030, to understand their impact in everyday life and what we can do to help achieve them by 2030. Set in 2015 by the United Nations Assembly, the SDGs are a collection of 17 goals designed to create a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges that we as humans face, including ending poverty, fighting inequality, and tackling the urgency of climate change. This project aims to make young people familiar with the SDGs so they can actively take part to this global call to action where not only governments but everyone, as a member of a transnational civil society, can give their small contribution to the Agenda 2030 and the achievement of the global goals.
How:
- The methods of project will be dedicated to an overview of the SDGs and the Agenda 2030; we will then focus on some of the most relevant for the youngsters and their country of origins.
- We will share ideas about what easy steps each of us can take in everyday life to help achieve the goals.
- One of the main objectives and results of the youth exchange will also be to have the youngsters write a concrete proposal to be sent to the local municipalities, asking them to commit to the SDGs. For this reason, the last days of the exchange will be dedicated to learning how to create a small advocacy campaign.
- We also aim to create a small booklet/guide about the SDGs, which the participants can then share in their own networks and potentially translate in their language to have a wider reach in the local community.

Who:
The target groups are youngsters aged from 18 or above. Half of the participants from each country will have no specific knowledge about the SDGs, while the other half will have specific skills or experiences relevant to achieve the objectives of the project (for ex. video-editing, social media, blogging, communication skills, experience in networking with institutional actors, advocacy work,
Knowledge/experience/volunteering connected with SDGs and/or the UN system, youngsters who have leadership skills, youngsters who are active in their community to raise awareness about social issues linked to the SDGs ex. Friday for future, clean your beach initiatives etc.)
