Oikos Onlus, non-profit organization based in Naples (Italy), is urgently looking for BULGARIAN PARTICIPANTS for the Youth Exchange “Jump in the living library”.
The Youth Exchange will involve 42 young people between 18 and 25 years old, coming from 8 countries (Bulgaria, Cyprus, Macedonia, Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, Italy), including participants with fewer opportunities, and aims at promoting intercultural dialogue and social inclusion as well as at fighting discriminations . It will be an opportunity to actually create a small multicultural reality in which people will be able to freely reflect on the “diversity” issue. During the nine-day exchange in Naples a series of simulation’s activities, brainstorming and workshops, aiming at identifying oneself with different realities and promoting shared considerations and tolerance, will take place.
A Living Library will be organized - a simple and concrete experience open to general public to promote dialogue, to break stereotypes and foster understanding. Thanks to this Youth Exchange, participants will widen and enrich their network with other young people and international associations and will be able to realize or propose innovations to improve activities for young people inside their communities / associations. In particular, they will develop skills enabling them to not only to better face current difficulties, but also to promote a positive change of attitudes inside their own lives. The project aims also at implementing the knowledge and understanding of key concepts such as immigration, equality, dignity, non-discrimination, human rights, interdependence and solidarity.
PARTICIPANTS PROFILE: between 18 and 25 years old, able to communicate in English, willing to actively participate in the activities during the YE as well as in the follow-up activities and be available during the entire period of the YE.
