The Partner-Finding Tool
We aim to bring together young migrants and people of colour aged 18-30 for a project focused on identity, migration and empowerment.
We are looking for 3 more partners for an Erasmus KA1 application that we are creating.
Our organisation Wanderers of Colour is an informal group of young people that was established in 2016. Our group focuses on travelling and living abroad, migrant issues, anti-racism, social inclusion and other social obstacles that people of colour experience today including gender inequality, Islamophobia and LGBT+ issues. The London, UK based Wanderers of Colour team is filled with people of colour who are 1st, 2nd, 3rd generation migrants from across the globe. We have a range of skill sets and work in various industries including social action, environmental, education, social research, finance, marketing, media, community, history, academia, creative, journalism, mental health, art and much more. In bringing together participants with a range of skill-sets and passions we also hope this will add different perspectives and approaches to our project objectives.
For our Erasmus KA1 project our key objectives are:
- Help participants to better understand identity, culture, race and migration at a local, national, international and European level
- Empower migrants and people of colour
-Equip participants with a range of skills including creative skills, intercultural awareness, financial skills and skills useful for gaining employment
- Develop an understanding of various intersections of the migrant experience including gender, race, class and LGBTQ+
- Help participants to better understand and respond to well-being and mental health
- Encourage people of colour to engage in activities often deemed as non-traditional for people of colour to do
Depending on the number of participating organisations, across the duration of the project various activities/training will take place, including in the base of our organisation London, UK.
As part of the dissemination process, we have a range of exciting outcomes! To keep some anonymity, we cannot state all of our objectives here or give further details of workshops or outcomes. Please get in touch if you have any questions or if you wish to join our project.
