Join Torre Escribana to support eco-education and community events while learning permaculture. 3 volunteers (1 fewer opportunities), up to 6 months.
Torre Escribana is the main project of Permacultura Aragón, a non-profit association based near Zaragoza (Aragón, Spain). It is a 1-hectare demonstration site for permaculture and sustainability, with a vegetable garden, edible forest, animals and water/energy management systems.
We are looking for support/sending partners to host 3 volunteers (including 1 young person with fewer opportunities) for up to 6 months starting in October. Volunteers will take part in hands-on learning and solidarity activities focused on food sovereignty and regenerative practices, such as: organic gardening (planning, sowing, irrigation, harvesting), edible forest and fruit tree maintenance, animal care, food preservation (fermentation/dehydration), seed saving, and production of organic inputs (compost, biochar, natural plant care).
Volunteers may also support the community dimension of Torre Escribana by helping us communicate activities, prepare the space for open events, welcome visitors, and co-design small workshops linked to sustainability, always with mentoring and clear learning goals.
Inclusion and support are central: we can adapt tasks and learning methods, offer pre-departure online preparation, individual and group tutorials, accessible communication tools, and a supportive team with social work experience. Our facilities include an independent volunteer house with shared spaces and accessibility measures (ramps and adaptable bathroom).
