European University Sport Festival - Unlimited abilities (EUnlimited)

We will mobilize the academic world to raise awareness about health enhancing physical activity for young people, with or without limited abilities.

Through the cooperation of sport universities/departments, sport federations, NGOs in the domain of limited abilities from 10 EU countries, the project will bring together athletes, coaches, volunteers, families, supporters, media and communities from all over Europe, bringing to life the European Commission objective to promote European fundamental values by encouraging sport for persons with or without disabilities. Upholding the ideal of social inclusion through shared team experience, the project creates an environment where people with an intellectual disability and people without an intellectual disability can learn about each other and overcome barriers that prevent the inclusion of individuals with intellectual disabilities in universities, sports clubs and society in general.
The key objective of this project is to ensure the successful implementation of the European University Sport Festival - Unlimited abilities, which will be the largest integrated European sport event of the year in Europe, and to ensure a successful legacy afterwards, by organizing sports seminars and workshops and developing government awareness programmes throughout Europe about adaptive/unified sport, in general and adaptive/unified dance, in particular. We will bring together Adaptive/Unified Sport Professionals, staff and volunteers of the sending organisations at a national/local level.
Bucharest will play host to about 500 athletes with and without limited abilities from the 10 countries participant in the project, about 100 coaches, along with about 1000 volunteers, about 1000 family members, and more than 2000 citizens/public that will see or be involved in the event activities. Athletes will be participating in different dance sport sections: aerobic gymnastics section; aerobic dance section; aerobic step section; Latin aerobic section; tae-bo aerobics section; disco dance section; street dance section; jazz dance section; funky dance section; hip-hop dance section; break dance section; ethno dance section; popular dance section; modern dance section; character dance section; contemporary dance section; sports dance section; dance section with objects / apparatus; modern ballet section; rock & roll section; music section; bollywood Section; stomp section; cheerleading section.
