The aim of the International Conference “EU Ro Governance” is to create a common space to develop the democratic partnership between citizens and their representatives within the European legislative forums

The conference will provide the space to reflect upon the role of civil society in community also related with the citizens and with the national Members within European Parliament and decision makers. The activities will also strengthen the civil society to contribute to the engagement of citizens at the democratic life of the European Union.

The International Conference “EU Ro Governance” is developed under the framework of the project „Europe, my country”. The project is implemented by EuroDEMOS together with partners from 3 countries: TDM2000 – Italy, Youth Alliance – Republic of Macedonia, Vision 2020 – Great Britain. The project „Europe, my country” is funded by Europe for Citizens Program of the European Union, project no. 564322-CITIZ-1-2015-1-RO-CITIZ-CIV.
The project aims to encourage democratic participation and active citizenship by building the citizens ownership and understanding regarding the legislative procedures and institutions within EU.
The project will also empower citizens and civil society to be aware of their role in democracy and in shaping the future of community.

The International Conference “EU Ro Governance” will involve citizens, civil society and decision makers’ representatives.
Within the Conference will be handed the results of the inquiry (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1qrXEnM3C7QLjqyXxTzqdLkMr3Dfp0tmENjDNr16MApI/viewform?ths=true&edit_requested=true) and the document with the feedback of the community to the national Members within European Parliament, followed by 3 working days on understanding the actual priorities on the EU agenda and ways to approach efficient active citizenship in each partner country.
The Results of the project will be included within a document which will be promoted to the decision makers at European level and debated within the “Debate on the Future of Europe”.
The project will create a common space to develop the democratic partnership between citizens and their representatives within the European legislative forums. The project will involve the main actors of democracy in the debate regarding the gap between citizens, civil society and decision makers.

PROFILE OF THE PARTICIPANT:
- To be active involved at the community life and willing to contribute to the community development;
- Having experience in working with decision makers at local, national or European level;
- To have over 18 years and to have a medium level of English;
- To apply the inquiry (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1qrXEnM3C7QLjqyXxTzqdLkMr3Dfp0tmENjDNr16MApI/viewform?ths=true&edit_requested=true) to min. 50 persons from their community, in order to be prepared and understand the results that will be handed to the decision makers within the conference;
- To be motivated to participate and be active involved in the International Conference activities;
- To have capacity to disseminate the International Conference results.

TRAVEL, BOARD AND LODGING :
Travel:
The travel cost will be repaid up to 50% of the travel costs. Only the participants who attend the entire conference can be reimbursed.
Accommodation:
Board and lodging will be provided by EuroDEMOS.
There is no participation fee.
