PROJECT NAME

Erasmus+ Engage, Organize & Unite
International cooperation for development of youth participation in the local community

GOAL

We want to empower young people who are not members of any NGO or a political party, due to being marginalized by being from remote or rural areas, urban problem zones or in peripheral regions or belonging to a national or ethnic minority, to become involved in their local communities, primarily by destigmatising the meaning of the word “politics” and everything connected to that term.

THE MAIN IDEA of PROJECT

Engage, Organize & Unite is a project focused on increasing the participation rate of young people in the political and social life of their own community, by actively engaging young individuals who are not members of any NGO or a political party, due to being marginalized for specific reasons.

The main idea of this project is to empower geographically and socially marginalized young people through seminars, workshops and info sessions, about ways to get active and become involved in social and political activism.

Our project is targeting minorities and people from remote and rural areas, offering them an opportunity to stay in these areas, to take part in already existing organizations and create new ones, and in that way contribute to community development, acquiring in the process essential entrepreneurial and other soft skills and gaining knowledge that will put them higher on the employability ladder.

This project will include following topics:

Unheard voices
Active participation of young people
Electoral procedures
NGOs
Political parties
Inclusive youth policies
Non-formal learning
Intercultural dialogue
Democracy/Active citizenships
Public policy/Advocacy
Initiate actively participation of youth in cultural, social and ethical transformation of society.
Destigmatising the meaning of the word “politics” and everything connected to that term.

Main activities of this ERASMUS+ long-term project are:

Local research related to the topic in all of the partner organization countries – - they will focus on researching which tool would be the most suitable for their local community, using as innovative approach as possible.

Kick-off meeting – one of the program countries -get to know the partners

Study visit − An organised study programme, a view of youth work and youth policy provisions in one host country, with a focus on the topics mentioned above. During the event each partner country will design 3 knowledge transfer tools :

“Talking cubes” - a set of six-sided dice, each with a different image on them. They are meant to inspire storytelling and creative thinking and problem solving. The cubes for each country will reflect the most relevant topics of that community.
Youth policy guide
Board game related to youth activism

Local workshops – The participants of the study visit will be fully capable of facilitating different knowledge transfer events within their communities. The tools designed in the previous activity will be used as part of the knowledge transfer locally. Through workshops, round tables, debates and youth parliament simulations, the participants of the previous events will engage the target group and help them make their first steps in getting active within their local communities.

Evaluation meeting –– one of the program countries
