Long term EVS aiming to promote the European project’s idea, elaborate, formulate and conduct campaigns and messages addressed to the youth in Istria.
The long term EVS project EPISTOLE represents specially designed programme, structured with the purpose to provide an opportunity for a young European volunteer, passionate and motivated to promote the European project’s idea, elaborate, formulate and conduct campaigns and messages addressed to the youth in the region of Istria, be the communicational manager of the LDA Brtonigla’s youth policy and work together as a team with the agency’s team, and its long tern EVS volunteers during its service period of 5 months. The main goal this project pursue is to raise the awareness and the recognizability of the opportunities which the various EU peogrammes and policy schemes provide for learning, training, educational and professional development in order to enable and develop the potential of the young generations for fulfillment of their potential and as the best way to ensure prosperous and peaceful future for the European project.
The chosen volunteer will have the chance to act as the agency’s communicational manager in the area of youth policy, spreading the knowledge and understanding of EU, its structure and its policy and concrete programmes, their profile, aim and requirements, reaching to the maximum wider public, through various forms, as direct meetings, celebrations, debates, collaboration with the agency’ partners, as schools, youth councils, touristic centers, the Italian communities, in even the smallest villages across the region, the traditional media, and especially using the high popularity of social medias, and with the full support of the LDA’s team and its other EVS volunteers.
During the service period, the agency will provide weekly classes of Croatian and Italian languages.
An important aspect of the project is the chance that the chosen volunteer will have to develop her/his own idea for youth exchange project, write a draft proposal, whose creativity and approach to a chosen topic will be supported and presented by the LDA Brtonigla’s team in the next deadline for projects to the National Agency.
By implementing the project activities, the volunteer will be able to gain new knowledge and skills, practice and learn new languages, spoken in the region, train her/his presentational skills, public talking, collaboration and team work in intercultural environment, organizational and interpretational skills, while develop sense of independence, self-confidence, entrepreneurship spirit and empathy and develop personal relations with the local community, culture and traditions.
For the local community and especially the young people, this project will bring closer the notion of the EU as structure and its programmes addressing the youths necessities, and reaching to many young people, limiting their perspectives due to economic or social challenges, unaware of the policies and opportunities available for development of young people potential, making available educational, professional and training programmes, and providing the necessary assistance and expertise. During the time of volunteering, the young person will also bring new cultural notion and perspective, and raise the understanding of the local community for different European culture, while living and working together.
