Dance as a Sport Syndrome

Our project will involve 3 organisations from 3 European countries that want to encourage social inclusion and equal opportunities in sport, through dance.

The problem identified is that the cultural and sports services in the domain of adapted dance/gymnastics that involve professional artists together with young people with disabilities are almost non-existent in Romania and not only.
The specific objectives of our project are:
1. Promoting the concepts of the Adapted Dance and Adapted Education in the participant countries and beyond, during the entire period of the project.
2. Development of skills and competences of 6 members of the consortium in the Adapted dance during the entire period of the project.
3. Develop the artistic abilities, knowledge and understanding in the field of adapted dance for 10 young people/country (30 young people in total with and without disabilities) with ages between 18 and 40 between 1-14 September 2019;
The main activity of the project will be the “DSS” Transnational Event that will last for 14 days (1-14 September 2019) and will have the following activities: networking, development of educational and training tools, exchange of good practices in working with mixed groups and events in witch are also presented the artistic products of the Transnational event to the broad audience.
Among the tangible results / outputs of the project, we can mention:
A Joint guide about how to work with young people with limited abilities (Down Syndrome etc); 1 digital resource for training young people with disabilities for a performance show; 1 report on improving the career management skills of coaches/choreographers in their work with young people with disabilities.
The project will involve 6 coaches from the participant countries, 30 young artists with and without disabilities and will have an impact of about 1000 persons - project participants, teachers, parents, spectators, broad audiences who together will understand the benefits of adapted dance.

We search for partners that have experience in the domain of adapted dance.
Duration of project:
24 months. (1 January 2019 – 31 December 2020)
Main Activities:
• 1 Transnational kick-off meeting (Mars/April 2019)
• 1 Event/Camp (1-14 September 2019)
• 1 Training/network meeting – for developing a Joint guide about how to work with young people with limited abilities and the report on how to improve the skills of coaches/choreographers in their work with young people with disabilities.
