This YE will involve a group of deaf, hard hearing and hearing youngsters and aims to experience and promote a sustainable lifestyle with the main focus on food
This youth exchange will be held in Samothrace Island in summer 2020 - involving a group of deaf, hard hearing and hearing youngsters - aiming to experience and promote a sustainable lifestyle with the main focus on food.
Through a diversity of activities we will explore and question food consumption and production issues, as well as share and discover alternatives.
What’s on the menu?
-Ice-breakers, team-building, energizers, creative free time…
-To calculate our footprint / foodprint
-To identify the nature of our products: season, origin, type of agriculture, composition, producers, certification labels …
-Cooking sessions: we will take our time to cook, each national group will cook a dinner and presents its culinary habits, participants will be involve in the preparation of the meals, we will discover recipes made from wild edible herbs and zer0-waste ones
-Foodwaste all along the supply chain
-To understand different diets
-Meeting local producers and sharing their activities
-Finding / Growing our own food?
-Food packaging
-Transversally: sharing about needs, limits and solutions in our personal life and communities
-Creation of (an) "awareness campaign(s)" as an effective dissemination tool for our networks and communities
-Outdoors connection: accommodation in a camping, outdoor sports (kayaking, hiking), nature creative activities
-International sign language sessions
We are looking for reliable partners, ready to promote active eco-citizenship! Your organizations should:
-work with hard of hearing and deaf youngsters
or
-agree to empower some participants with these characteristics and a sign language interpreter
And have few/some experience in at least one of this topic:
-inclusion
-environmental awareness
-food awareness
-nature connection
-behavior change
The application is almost ready but we are willing to get feedbacks and improve it together.
